To Collate...Or Not

so it's been a while since i last posted anything, but that doesnt mean people here figured out technology.  (sadly)

my coworkers are no where near close to being tech savy, but i always assumed my boss was somewhat tech savy.  yesterday he proved me wrong.

so he prints out a huge document..and multiple copies.  the end result was a pile of paper more than an inch think on top of the printer.  he then hands it to me...and says, put these in order.  turns out he does not know what collate means. (on a side note.. he also refuses to use dictionary.com, even when he is sitting in front of a keyboard.)

so after 20 minutes of sorting, and 2 nice paper cuts later, i have decided i should change my title to Collator Extraordinaire.

Miracle of Emails

during my very first few days at this company, i explained that emails were timestamped.
apparently he forgot everything i said.

(bear with me people, i'm not much of an artist)
so he comes in from a meeting and sits at his computer....
and my response:
i dont think he understood my sarcasm.

Accounting 101

For anyone who ever did book keeping or staff accounting positions, you know the "joys" of debits and credits..and having to know why and how to make journal entries..

...apparently, things are done differently here....

Last week, I installed Yahoo Messenger on my co-workers computer.  I really thought she got the hang of it, until this morning...

Her screen had an internet explorer window up, and she was trying to sign on to yahoo messenger to get information from someone who wasn't in the office.  here's the picture version of my frustration:

She spend 10minutes trying to figure out where on the screen (internet explorer was on the screen, with google as the webpage) to enter in the username and password.  It took some time, and she did eventually figure it out.

I really was proud of her when the Yahoo Messenger screen came up.  (not really...)  i figured she would know how to handle it from there since she did send me a test message last week... and as i was sitting down..she goes:

and then this was me:

I know some people aren't good with computers. But there's this lady at work, who knows absolutely nothing about computers. The other day she asked me how to use a mouse (sort of). Apparently double clicking made no sense to her. A week later, she did get the hang out of. Then, its the upper right hand corner icons that are giving her a problem... she then asks why they aren't colored dots like apple.

Soo after a day of not making any progress, my boss tells me he wants me to get her up to speed, and have her use yahoo messenger for inter office conversations. It took me practically all of today explaining it. the result of my day's effort summarized in the pic below:

N***: I think that I get the concept of typing the message.

what she means to say: what does it mean to yahoo messenger....
...even after i spent the whole day explaining, i still have hope.
